DAKSHA SHETH DANCE COMPANY

Daksha Sheth Dance Company, an Indo-Australian ensemble founded by Daksha Sheth and Devissaro, is at the forefront of contemporary performance in India.
With a career spanning over five decades, Daksha has transformed Indian dance by fusing classical technique with the dynamism of folk, ritual, and martial traditions. She was the first in India to integrate the ancient Yogic aerial tradition of Mallakhamb and martial arts into dance-theatre, crafting a bold movement language.
Drawing from Kathak, Chhau, Kalaripayattu, Silambam, and Mallakhamb, the company's acclaimed works include Sarpagati, BhuKham, Shiva Shakti, and the iconic Sari. Isha Sharvani, who joined at 12, continues to evolve this legacy globally. As a collective of dancers, martial artists, musicians, and theatre artists, DSDC is known for its rigorous interdisciplinary training and strong visual storytelling.
With over 3,000 performances in 30+ countries and 25 festivals, they've appeared at the Kennedy Center, Edinburgh Fringe, Southbank Centre (London), House of World Cultures (Berlin), Théâtre de Colombes (Paris), Holland Dance Festival, the 2006 Commonwealth Games opening, and PIAF (2013/2019)
